Frequently asked questions

  • No. I'm a somatic coach, not a therapist. My work is trauma-informed, but it's not a replacement for clinical treatment.

  • I'm not just a coach. I'm someone who's lived this journey.

I have a PhD in chemistry from UC Berkeley. I spent years defining my worth by academic achievement, productivity, and external validation. I know what it's like to feel successful on paper and still empty inside.

I've done the deep work to redefine success, reclaim my power, and come home to my body. It has been an incredible journey, and I love holding space for others to do the same.

I also wouldn’t be in integrity if I said my work is done—I continue to do the very same work I guide my clients through.

I create extraordinary safety. Clients consistently name my presence, attunement, and nervous-system-aware pacing as what allows them to go deeper than they have anywhere else.

I don't rush you. I don't override you. I don’t fix you. I meet you exactly where you are. I hold a boundaried, grounded container—while giving you full permission to soften, feel, and be real.

    I also bring:

    • Deep somatic and energetic attunement

    • Trauma-informed presence

    • Nervous system literacy

    • Teaching mastery (PhD + teaching certification)

    • Lived experience

  • There is no “good” or “bad”. It’s like working out—when you first use a new muscle, it feels sore and you have to use it regularly to gain strength. Somatic work is the same. We will go at your pace, and everything that comes up to be seen or felt is in perfect timing.

  • Absolutely! Many of my clients are logic- and science- driven, and end up surprised by how quickly their body tells them their truth when we slow down, have patience, and stay present.

  • I completely understand! That’s exactly what the connection call is for. I will give you a taste of what somatic work will be like with me during our connection call, and you will feel whether it resonates or not. If it doesn’t, you will still leave with new clarity.

  • Honestly, so am I! I usually need to feel things to believe them. My work is grounded & evidence-based. My job is to help you slow down and feel enough to learn to listen to your intuition instead of acting based on societal expectations.

  • Most clients start with a dedicated, 3-month container and continue as long as the work feels supportive.

  • I offer sliding scale and payment plans on a case-by-case basis. Let's talk.

  • I'm based in Oakland, California. I offer online somatic coaching via Zoom to clients anywhere, plus occasional in-person coaching in Oakland. I also offer in-person workshops all over the Bay. Sign up for my email list to learn more!
